Sculptra / Radiesse (bio-stimulators)

A non filler, bio-stimulant used to stimulate your own collagen. It is made of Poly-L-Lactic Acid, that we inject into areas of volume and structural loss which the body absorbs in the body within 24-48 hours. These molecules induce a control response which leads to recruitment of fibroblasts and stimulation of collagen within the dermis. It is slowly and naturally broken down by the body and eliminated out of it as a carbon dioxide, water, glucose and lactate.

This is a slower result process, with best results at 6 months post last treatment and lasts up to 25 months.

Average vials are 2-6 per treatment.

FAQs

  • Sculptra is injected in the superficial and deep layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production. Collagen is a protein that provides structure, support, and strength to the skin, connective tissues, bones, and cartilage. It can be used to treat:

    • Marionette lines

    • Chin wrinkles

    • Nasolabial folds

    • Cheeks

    • Temples

    • Jawline

    • Neck

    • Buttocks

  • Every patient will require a different treatment plan, however dosing is often based upon age, collagen loss, and area. For example, for full face rejuvenation we recommend the following vials:

    20-30 years old: 1-2 vials

    30-40 years old: 4 vials

    40-60 years old: 6 vials

60+ years old: 8 vials or more

For necks and chest: 3 vials

    Buttocks: 10-30 vials

  • We use both a needle and a cannula in most areas, therefore expect bruising and swelling post procedure.

  • Results from Sculptra peak at 6 months with continued building of collagen up to a year, and some studies have shown duration up to 2 years. I recommend 1-2 vials of maintenance annually.

  • Sculptra is a non-invasive option that is great for people looking to avoid dermal fillers or surgery. It is very safe and delivers more natural results than other treatment options.

    • Pregnancy/breastfeeding

    • Certain autoimmune disorders

    • Anyone taking anti-inflammatory or steroids

    • Active Cancer or illness
